Planning Board Minutes 6/26/08
Planning Board Meeting
June 26, 2008
Meeting to order: 7:05 P.M.
Members Present: Alan Salaman; Larry Klein; Co-chair Cindy Hoogs; Co-chair Brian Puntin and Maggie Leonard

Public Present: Monterey Building Inspector Don Torrico

·       Special Permit Application: Formerly 7 Stones, KSA- Mass, LLC (Sports Camp) located at 25 Deerwood Park Drive. The applicants are asking permission of construction of an 8 bedroom coach’s cabin and camper allowance until the completion of the cabin. The cabin would measure 32x 60’.  The applicants are also asking for a special permit to construct a 60’ by 30’ tent to shelter weight equipment as well as gymnastic equipment. The tents will be permanent structures. This permit would be expanding on an already granted permit to turn the property into a camp. Monterey building inspector Don Torrico stated that he does not have a problem with the special permit application. Don did state that the cabin is very close to the property line and will require them to submit an “as built”. The board will recommend as-built plans due to the closeness of the property lines. The board will also specify that the trailers can be temporary only. Alan made a motion to grant the special permit, Brian seconded it and it was unanimously passed.
·       Monterey Building Inspector: Don Torrico mentioned that in the permit section of the zoning bylaws there are some inconsistencies that he would like to amend. He suggested that he sit down with the planning board and discuss them and work on amendments together.
·       Meeting Minutes: The May 22nd meeting minutes were approved as written.
·       Planning Board Chairman: Cindy and Brian will continue to be co-chairs of the Planning Board. Maggie agreed to continue to be the delegate to the Berkshire Regional Planning.
·       Common Driveway Bylaw: The common driveway bylaw was tabled at annual town meeting. The board would like to request that a special town meeting be held in the fall. The board would inquire as to whether or not they need another public hearing. ADU bylaws could be discussed at the same time. Maggie will compile previous notes on past attempts to pass ADU bylaws.
·       Master Plan: The board opened up the discussion again regarding the creation of the town’s master plan. Maggie felt that with the help from Berkshire Regional Planning she could make an effort to make some progress on the plan.
